MEET THE DRAGON STAFF -- BALINDA SCHLEHUBER

BALINDA SCHLEHUBER has been a teacher for 18 years.  She is in her second year at Dawson ISD and currently teaches 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th grade ELAR.  Balinda graduated from Denver City High School, and went to college at South Plains College and Lubbock Christian Univeristy.  When her husband got a new job in Houston, she continued her higher education at and graduated from Houston Baptist University. 

Balinda has been married to David for 33 years, and they have a son, Damon, who lives in Oklahoma.  They also have four dogs:  Houdini, Turbo, Peanut, and Shadow.  She and her husband love to travel in their travel trailer to the mountains or lake, but the mountains are her favorite.  

Balinda loves everything about her job.  The teachers she works with are awesome, the community is so supportive, and the very best part of her job is her students – she loves them all.  She doesn’t HAVE to come to work – she GETS to come to work!!

Teaching is not just a job to her – it’s a dream come true!! She has wanted to be a teacher ever since she did her “All About Me” book in first grade.  She works daily to facilitate a love for reading with her students.

Dawson ISD is so glad to have BALINDA SCHLEHUBER as a part of the Dragon Staff!!
