Meet the Dragon Staff -- GARY JONES

GARY JONES is starting his third year as the  superintendent of Dawson ISD, and he has been an educator for 35 years.  He grew up in Seminole, and attended both Angelo State University and UTPB. He has worked in many school districts as a teacher, coach, and administrator, and now loves being the superintendent for Dawson.

Mr. Jones has been married to Joy, a retired educator, for 38 years, and they have two sons, two bonus daughters, and two grand-daughters.  Garrison, his wife PJ, and their two daughters Addie and Erin just moved to Seminole, where Garrison serves as the associate pastor of First Baptist Church, and PJ teaches third grade reading.  Braeden and his wife Abbie live in Lubbock.  Braeden teaches and coaches at New Home, while Abbie serves as a NICU nurse at Covenant Hospital.   In his spare time, Mr. Jones loves spending time with his kids and grandkids as well as the rest of his family, and he also loves to fish.

Mr. Jones has always loved small schools, and the communities that surround them and embrace the kids and their activities.  He loves being a Dawson Dragon, and looks forward to seeing the district continue to grow, improve, and mold successful students both in and out of the classroom.   He is especially excited to start this school year fully staffed – so many districts are not so fortunate.

Dawson ISD is very lucky to have GARY JONES at the helm of the Dragon Staff!!
