Meet the new 2024-2025 Dragon Staff -- JOSHUA HINOJOSA

JOSH HINOJOSA joins the Dawson family from Grady, and he is starting year nine in education.  He graduated from Grady High School, went to work, and then attended Odessa College and Sul Ross State University. Coach Hinojosa will be teaching high school science and mathematics and will be the head boys’ basketball coach for the Dragons; he will also be an assistant coach for football and track.

Josh was athletic trainer for the softball team while at Odessa College.  After graduating from Sul Ross in 2015, he got his first teaching/coaching job at Grandfalls-Royalty.  After several years, he moved to Anton, coaching tennis, football, track, tennis, and boys’ basketball.  He has been the head boys’ basketball coach in Anton for the past three years.

What Coach Hinojosa really loves about his job is seeing kids succeed both in the classroom and on the field of play.  He is very excited to get to know the Dawson kids and community members.

In his spare time, Josh loves to hang out with family.  He also loves the lake, fishing, watching movies, and attending live events.  Something interesting about him is he once conducted a train!!

Dawson ISD is so happy to welcome Josh Hinojosa to the Dragon family!!
